Plumbers and Pipefitters Training Center Local 344
The Apprenticeship Program consists of five years' training both on-the-job and in the classroom. If you are accepted into the Program, you will be given a job with a Union Contractor with starting competitive wages. In addition, you will attend classes at the Training Center two nights per week, and one Saturday each month, beginning the first week in October and continuing through April each year. Apprentices are not required to attend classes during the summer months, but will continue with on-the-job training during that time.
Entrance into the Program is not easily achieved. Approximately 300 to 400 people apply to our Program each year and, depending on the availability of work, approximately 10 to 25 are accepted.
If your completed application, with all required documentation as listed on the next page, is not received by the cut-off date for the next interview session, your application will be marked “incomplete” and you will not be eligible for an interview. You must request a new application and re-apply to be considered for entry into the Program.
Qualifications:
All applicants must meet the following criteria:
- be a minimum of 18 years of age at the time of acceptance into the program
- be a high school graduate or have received a GED certificate
- be willing to take a Drug Test
