My name is Giovanni Mele, I'm a Coast Guard veteran and a residential HVAC technician. My career in HVAC began in January 2022, since, I've spent approximately a year learning installation of ducted/ductless mini splits, as well as air handlers/furnaces. The rest of the time has been maintenance, slowly moving into service.
Hydronics and geothermal heat pumps are new systems I'm currently beginning to learn about. I am a hard worker and have an interest in HVAC because the learning is endless, I enjoy that it's a bit of all the trades mixed in which is similar to how my Coast Guard career was. I hope to one day be knowledgable enough to be a "go to" guy when no one else can figure out the issue, or someone my co workers can depend on if they're in a jam.

    Role Description:

    At Ocean State Air Solutions I began my apprenticeship on the installation side of things for about a year, from there i was given an opportunity to step into the service side of things. This particular companies main focus is heat pump systems, we would install both ducted and ductless heat pump systems, as well as central AC and furnaces. Indoor air quality was another one of our big focus's, we would install equipment such as humidifiers, dehumidifiers, UV lights, etc. On the service side i was mostly conducting maintenance of the aforementioned systems.

    Role Description:

    Currently, I am working for a company called Superior Comfort Inc. It was a family owned business that sold and went corporate. I am currently in a maintenance technician position with this company and slowly dipping my toes into service troubleshooting and repairs. This company works on all types of equipment ranging from forced hot air systems, forced hot water, heat pumps, geothermal, etc. I am currently in the process of learning more about hydronics as well as geothermal systems,
