Work Experience:
Hello,
My name is James Criste and currently live in Woodland, CA. I was recently medically retired from a local police department in October 2022 from an injury received while on duty. I was a police officer for eleven years and was retired as a patrol supervisor. During my law enforcement career, I was fortunate to work in numerous specialized units or as a training instructor. I have been assigned to Field Training Officer, Firearms Instructor, Tactical Rifle Instructor, Head Fully Automatic Rifle Instructor, Sniper Team Instructor, Emotional Awareness Team member, Recruiting Team member, Undercover Narcotics Detective, VICE Unit Detective, Gang Task Force Detective, SWAT Team Operator, SWAT Team Sniper, Assistant SWAT Team Leader, Search & Rescue Team Member, and Search & Rescue Lead Diver, and a Patrol Senior Corporal.
Prior to entering the Law Enforcement field, I served in the United States Marine Corps. I ended my active service in 2008 as a Sergeant, and began putting myself through college. I was assigned to multiple specialized infantry units as a Team Leader, and deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan on five separate combat deployments.
I grew up in an agricultural, construction, and public safety family so I am definitely not to be afraid of getting dirty and working hard. I have gained experience in heavy equipment operations, framing, roofing, siding, concrete, asphalt, and underground. From my military and police experience I gained strong skills in Leadership, Communication, Safety, Threat Management, Planning and Logistics, Interviewing, Investigating, Report Writing, Risk Assessment, Compliance, Complex Problem Solving, Work Delegation, Computer Operating Skills, and Analytical Thought Processing.
I am very interested and motivated to re-enter the construction field. The areas that interest me the most are in the Management and Planning, Compliance, Health and Safety, Inspection, and Equipment Operations.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
