  Duties Description:

  Boatswain's Mates (BM) train, direct, and supervise personnel in ship's maintenance duties in all activities relating to marlinespikes, decks, boat seamanship, painting, upkeep of ship's external structure, rigging, deck equipment, and life boats. 

  The Officer of the Day is in charge of managing personnel, scheduling due maintenance, coordinating search and rescue, and organizing unit training. 

  As a small boat coxswain, you are in charge of operating a small boat in compliance with navigation standards that are set forth and are responsible in leading a crew in search and rescue operations which can vary from medical assistance, firefighting, dewatering and damage control, and towing.

  Weapons Petty Officer is in charge of the acountability and maintenance of the stations small arms, ammunition, and pyrotechnics.

  A boarding officer is a federal law enforcement officer that enforces all applicable laws and regulations on the waters subject to the jurisdiction of the United States. This includes Seizures, Examinations, Arrests, Searches, Inspections, and Inquiries on vessels operating in US waters.
