My name is Pedro Alonso and I am a 21-year-old National Guard Member. I am taking some college courses at Cascadia College with the goal of getting my degree in Civil engineering. The strengths that I have are some experience working in the Labor union for Belarde company. I learned a lot about tools and equipment as well as concrete work in my time with them. I do finishers work with my dad as well. I have experience running some heavy equipment as well as driving with trailers. When I found out about the Helmets to Hard Hats program I thought this would be a great program for me to learn a trade that will give me more knowledge and background experience for when I do become a Civil Engineer. I am very interested in the construction of Buildings and Bridges and I want to get into a job that will benefit me more in the long run.
