Samuel Alzate

My name is Samuel Alzate. I'm currently serving in the Oregon Army National Guard. I'm absolutely interested in taking advantage of the Helmets to Hard Hats program so I can become an electrician. I've worked all types of jobs on the civilian side. Warehouse, truck driving, parcel delivery, bank teller/representative, etc.. What I have come to realize is that although these jobs were good jobs, none of them taught me valuable skills that I can use in my day to day life. As an electrician I would learn crucial skills and work with my hands to create things and bring them to life. It would be a career I would thrive in and see myself enjoying every single day of it. 

I'm a hard worker, I love learning new things and adding new skills to my tool belt. I'm driven to learn and do my absolute best. I pay great attention to detail and strive to get things done right the first time. That being said, I have no problem being corrected, I am always willing and eager to learn. I'm used to being a part of team and understand how vital team work and clear communication with my team members can be. I hope you will give me a chance to prove myself.
