Andrei Faenkov

I was born in Grodno, Belarus and grew up in Minsk. At the age of thirteen, I moved to the United States and settled in the city of Kent, Ohio. I played soccer in High School and enjoyed snowboarding in the winter as well as being a member of the local car club. I joined the Ohio Army National Guard in 2018. I finished Infantry OSUT at Fort Benning, Georgia in April 2019, subsequently joining Alpha Company of 1st Battalion, 148th Infantry Regiment. As a grenadier, I participated in various squad live fire exercises with my unit, including room clearing live fire at Camp Atterbury AT 2019. In 2020 I participated in Operation Steady Resolve as a member of a task force designated to Wexner Medical Center in Columbus. In September of that year, I volunteered to join the Scout Platoon of the Headquarters Company to further push myself in the Army career. As a member of the Recon Section, I worked to provide the best intelligence, screening, and fire support to the Battalion Commander during our unit’s cycle at Joint Readiness Training Center, Fort Polk. In 2022 the Recon platoon was selected for the PSD mission on our upcoming deployment to Iraq. In preparation for the job I have had the opportunity to go through private and military training to prepare me for the job of executive protection. I deployed to Iraq in 2022 and worked as a member of the PSD Advance team for the CG of CJTF-OIR as well as being the primary driver for DCG. I graduated Kent State University in 2019 with a degree in Finance. Through the years Ive been employed in multiple industries ranging from customer service, chemical manufacturing, automotive as well as mortgage banking. I'm looking to transition into a career in skilled trades, specifically the electrical field.
