My name is Benjamin Garcia and I currently am an employee at Caliber Collisions as a paint apprentice. I am a USMC veteran, served for 5 years under two MOS's 0331/8152. Infantry Machine Gunner/Security Foces Guard. I have zero experience of blue collar work. My strengths are teaching, leadership, and getting a task done in a timely fashion. My objective is to get my foot in the door for a trade that I can grow and become better at over time.

    Duties Description:
    The machine gunner is responsible for the tactical employment of the 7.62mm medium machine-gun, the 50 cal. and 40mm heavy machine-gun, and their support vehicle. Machine gunners provide direct fire in support of the rifle and LAR squads/platoons/companies and the infantry and LAR battalions. They are located in the weapons platoons of the rifle and LAR companies and the weapons company of the infantry battalion. Noncommissioned officers are assigned as team leaders and squad leaders/section leaders.

    Role Description:

    I joined the Marines on Jan 7th, 2019. Attended Bootcamp, School of Infantry, then Marine Corp Security Force School. Sep 5th I reported to my first duty station.Bangor Washington. We were security for Naval Ships and Nuclear Weapons. I was part of the general population until Dec 2020. I became a Team Leader. Then March 2021 I became a Squad Leader and had an NCO billet as Corporal of the Guard. I was promoted to Corporal in June an became the Sergeant of the Guard.

    Role Description:

    I PCS'd to 2nd Battalion 4th Marines, Golf company, weapons Platoon. I was a Team Leader for a Machine Gun Squad. We did our work up for our deployment on the 13th Marine Expiditionary Unit. I acted as Squad Leader from time to time due to certain training operations. I was promoted to Sergeant in Feb of 2023.
