  Duties Description:
  Performs organizational, direct and general support maintenance, excluding any repair of system components, on CH-54 helicopters; conducts scheduled and special inspections, diagnoses operational defects, services systems, adjusts or replaces parts or assemblies as authorized by maintenance doctrine and maintenance allocation charts; determines serviceability of helicopter systems by performing maintenance operational checks and inspections; troubleshoots and diagnoses all systems on helicopter to detect present and incipient malfunctions or failures to isolate defective component or part; localizes malfunctions by performing series of tests with diagnostic test equipment; tightens, adjusts, removes and replaces components, assemblies and subassemblies with common and special tools and precision measuring instruments; assists component repairmen in removal and replacement of engine and main transmission assemblies onto airframe.
