My name is Dylan Mowry. I'm currently serving in the United States Coast Guard and nearing the end of my contract. Upon completion of my contract I intend to join the union. The majority of my knowledge and experience is in carpentry. I excel at fine mill work/cabinetry and wood working but I'm well versed in all aspects of carpentry from frame to finish and have worked in both residential and commercial settings. While most of my experience is in carpentry I also have knowledge in welding and metal fabrication. My career objectives include, continuing to expand my carpentry skills and knowledge of building methods and materials. I also desire to learn all aspects of how major projects go from the planning and development phase to completion including estimating, budgeting, sourcing materials, project management, and coordinating contractors and vendors.

    Engineer

    • Troubleshoot and respond to vessel casualties while underway

    • Maintain working knowledge of all vessel systems

    • Conduct daily boat checks to ensure vessel is fully mission capable

    • Maintain vessel maintenance records

    • Observe maintenance due list and conduct regular preventative maintenance

    • Conduct corrective maintenance and repairs as needed

    Boarding Team Member

    • Conduct maritime law enforcement missions

    • Enforce laws and regulations regarding maritime security, fisheries, &

    commercial/recreational vessel safety

    • Assist Boarding officer with vessel inspections

    • Document inspections and issue warnings and violations

    • Maintain knowledge of federal laws regulating Coast Guard jurisdiction,
