  Role Description:

   · Led damage control efforts of 37 fire
  incidents onboard during my tenure including a mass Class B fire in the
  engine-room which led to a General Quarter, a situation where all sailors act,
  and 21 flooding incidents. 

  · Managed all damage control equipment
  onboard the ship and supervised over 951 corrections on equipment including the
  complete restoration of the ship’s Flight Deck AFFF (Fire Fighting Foam) System
  which allowed for continuous usage of safe Flight Operations on board. 

  · Coordinated the accomplishment of all
  fire related safety discrepancies with Norfolk Navy Base Fire Department Chief
  during multiple shipyard and industrial periods.  

  · Solely responsible for ship’s draft (safety
  depth) report every day, analyzing the information given to ensure ship was in
  safe depth every day and enough fuel was stored onboard. 

  · Trained and conducted drills for up to
  360 sailors onboard to increase the level of knowledge for the crew to ensure the
  highest level of damage control preparedness. Designated 561 Damage Control
  Qualifications where counterpart average is around 200 to 300. 

  · Performed day to day walkthrough of the
  entire ship to look for fire hazards. Trained every fire marshal onboard to
  ensure the highest level of knowledge on fire hazards. Qualified 4 Fire
  Marshals onboard.  

  · Supervised a team to fix sewage system
  on board for crews’ comfort multiple times, putting myself and the team in
  toxic environments for five hours per day for one month. This required
  coordination from numerous medical commands. 

  · Coordinated accomplishments of all
  fire related safety discrepancies during intensive ship industrial periods, ensuring
  the highest level of fire preventions and all certifications were complete
  prior to start of maintenance. 

  · Successfully completed and certified twice
  in “Damage Control – Industrial”, a high fail rate fire prevention qualification,
  which required integration and communication from Norfolk Naval Base Fire
  Department, Maintenance Availability Supervisors, and Navy Afloat Training
  Group. 

  · Coordinated and led 20 General Quarter
  drills (casualty response with all 360 sailors onboard). With a severe
  undermanned crew size, was able to successfully lead casualty control efforts,
  directing simultaneous efforts during multiple casualty scenarios to keep the
  crew ready.

  Free Engineer (responsible for ensuring area has safe breathable air), clearing
  closed compartment spaces for toxic environment for sailors to work in.

  certifications from Navy Farrier Firefighting school. This certification
  allowed for MOB-A, a major qualification to allow continuous flight operations
  on board, to be passed allowing the USS SAN JACINTO to keep all Air Warfare Certifications
  and continue supporting the Carrier Strike Group.

  Role Description:

   · Directly in charge of 4 sailors and 1
  Chief Petty Officer. Greatly changed the administrative process while adhering
  to strict timelines to better satisfy sailors’ needs due to lack of manpower. 

  · With no guidance and new crisis in the
  Navy, created a ship’s guidance on COVID-19 which was a result from multiple
  meetings with all COVID-19 coordinators in Sasebo Naval Base. New guidance
  accurately covered all of Japan’s COVID-19 policies and requirements allowing
  for continuous manning and for sailors to take leave in the United States
  during the pandemic. 

  · As Covid coordinator, processed over
  244 waivers with multiple navy commands, ensuring sailors to be transferred on
  time while supporting Forward Deployed Naval Forces-Japan personnel manning
  requirements. 

  · Coordinated five policy exceptions, 54
  CONUS leave requests and 146 Restriction of Movement, a quarantine
  documentation required by Japan, with multiple regional Admirals(O-7),
  Captains(O-6), and ISICs. 

  · Utilized great organization skills to
  improve timeliness for evaluations, awards, and personnel actions to better
  satisfy sailors’ administrative needs. 

  · Took on the position of Training
  Officer, above paygrade, due to the early loss of Training Officer. Directly
  led the movement of sailors to ensure ship job positions were continuously well
  manned with appropriate qualifications and personnel needs. 

  · Successfully transitioned from Main
  Propulsion Officer to Admin officer at a critical time, providing desperately
  needed continuity and coverage in an undermanned Ship’s Office. Oversight led
  to smoother school and manning forecasting process. 

  · Processed 71 sailors to go to school
  to maintain proper training and required enlisted certifications, onboard
  utilizing online school tracker, and emailing schoolhouses for waivers in case
  sailors did not reach rank prerequisites. 

  · In charge of and leading all Planning
  Board for Training (PB4T), a training meeting to track absence in positions and
  sailors at school, with the Executive Officers and leaders onboard the ship. 

  · Coordinated a meeting onboard with
  Australian and Japanese Navy to exchange and respect different cultures, and
  share day to day life as junior military officers.

  Role Description:

   · Guided and managed 60 sailors and 4
  Chief Petty Officers in daily operation, maintenance, care, and constant repair
  of all eight ships diesel engines. 

  · Managed all logs and records kept and
  accurately reflected the status of the engineering plant throughout the day. 

  · Drove project of repairing 1 of 2
  broken Reverse Osmosis System, providing daily fresh water throughout the ship
  for crew’s comfort and usage. 

  · Commanded a quick response team of 21
  in the repair of 2 of 4 broken ships’ propulsion systems, consisting of 254-man
  hours and saved the ship an estimated 950 million dollars. 

  · Managed the training of ship
  engineering plant, equipment, emergency procedures, and processes for other
  junior officers undergoing qualifications. 

  · In charge of 42 casualty
  reports on board and ensured all changes to status were updated properly and
  the repair of casualty was started.  

  · Drafted over 30 Departure
  from Specification reports, a report that allows
  continuous running of mission essential equipment’s without following proper
  procedures due to inadequate guidelines. 

  · Responsible for keeping
  the Chief Engineer and Engineering Officer on Watch updated on any plant status
  changes and oversaw reviewing fuel and fresh water log every day.  

  · Directly managed every log in every
  major engine space on board, ensuring accuracy and acquiring reasons for any
  abnormalities. 

  · Underwent MOB-E twice successfully, a
  major ship’s engineering plant certification which included all equipment up
  and running, and all casualty control procedures followed. This certification
  allows for a ship to be deployed. 

  · Led a team with the Chief Engineer to
  fix the main engines, where USS ASHLAND was the only LSD class ship that was
  successfully certified and passed a Full Speed Run certification, which allows
  for a naval ship to go at the maximum speed allowable for at least an hour. 

  · Coordinated and repaired 1 of 2 HPACs
  onboard which is a major equipment that starts the main engines utilizing high
  pressure (3000 psi) air.

  (Ship’s Nautical or Otherwise Photographic Interpretation and Examination) Team
  Leader/VI Team Leader on board who was responsible for no-fail missions to
  visually document key moments of unsafe, unprofessional, or abnormal
  interactions by vessels and/or aircraft of other nations against U.S. Assets. 

  · Was responsible for all the story
  board, DOT naval messages, Locator naval messages, video
  and photograph capture, and information collection including everything our
  vessel and the other vessel did during the situation. 

  · Successfully took part in SNOOPIE/VI
  Certification, receiving a 92% pass for the USS ASHLAND. 

  · Fully trained and qualified 2

  over 20 unsafe interactions or key events during deployments to East China Sea. 

  · Fully passed over 121 simulation
  assessments of unsafe interactions provided by Immediate Superior in Command
  (ISIC), which required full storyboard, pictures and videos, and messages to be
  sent within a time limit back to ISIC for grading.

  Role Description:

   · Directly in charge of all antennas and
  radio range frequencies on board ranging from High Frequency (HF) to Extremely
  High Frequency (EHF). 

  · Overall responsible for every
  cryptological key and distribution on board that allowed communications via
  satellite, usage of the Ship Self Defense System, and logs and reports kept to
  date and identify any security risks. 

  · Spearheaded
  and oversaw operational and cyber security training for all sailors which led
  to astounding security measures across the ship. 

  · Administered all
  communications transmitting within and off the ship that allowed us to have
  communications with other US Navy Ships and other foreign military vessels. 

  · Solely
  responsible for verification of personnels, including active clearance, before
  allowing access to Navy computers. 

  · Led and worked
  overnight to correct communication casualty prior to deployment which brought
  down everyone’s email and internet. 

  · Noticed all
  deficiencies and reportable offenses once taking over the TS/SCI Vault and
  reported all discrepancies to ship’s Captain and ISIC, drafting multiple
  official Naval Message reporting all the discrepancies to ensure it does not
  happen again and created an official log of all discrepancies for future use. 

  · Trained entire
  crew on proper operational security and space security to ensure no information
  is leaked to sailors’ families and friends. 

  · Led and certified
  first USS ASHLAND Cyber Inspection. Demonstrated the knowledge to pass the
  cyber security vulnerability and unsafe cyber practices throughout the ship.
  Spent over 20 hours training the entire crew on cyber vulnerabilities. 

  · Spent over 200
  hours discovering and correcting unsafe cyber security vulnerabilities. 

  · Led team during
  the Command Control and Communication certification Validation resulting in the
  ASHLAND receiving a near perfect 98% and being the only ship in Command 7th
  Fleet to complete Communications Certification during a Technical Training
  Assist Visit (TTAV). My team single-handedly won the Command, Control,
  Computers, and Intelligence (C4I) Green Battle “E” (Effectiveness Award) for
  ASHLAND’S crew. The Green Battle “E” took part in awarding the ASHLAND the
  Battle “E” Award for the crew, only given to two ships per fiscal year. 

  · Trained all
  Junior Officers on Communication Security (COMSEC) and KMI Operating Account
  Manager’s responsibilities which were prerequisites to Combat Information
  Center Watch Officer (CICWO), a major qualification milestone and watch station
  for junior officers.

  secret material transportation once a month from Fukuoka, Japan to Sasebo,
  Japan.

  a secured satellite frequency, crypto key malfunction using distant support
  from subject matter expert.
