Military Service:
Rank: Sergeant
Branch/Position: Marine Corps
Period: December 1999 - May 2005
Occupation: 0321 - Reconnaissance Man - 0321
Security Clearance: Secret Clearance
Duties Description:The reconnaissance man is an infantry Marine skilled in amphibious ground reconnaissance. In addition to basic infantry skills, he possesses proficiency in scout swimming, small boat operations and refined scouting, patrolling and long-range communications skills. Rank: Sergeant
Branch/Position: Army
Period: May 2006 - May 2007
Occupation: 18C - Special Forces Engineer Sergeant
Security Clearance: Secret Clearance
Duties Description:Now I must be clear about this: The 18C MOS was a billet I filled when I deployed with the Army's ODA team.
I completed selection but did not attend the Qualification Course to earn the MOS before they deployed, so I was never a "Tabbed Guy." The Unit needed someone who could fill the role to complete their requirements. My Marine MOS did not directly translate into an Army MOS, but training I had received through the Marines gave me enough experience to fulfill duty requirements in a junior role. This is what my DD214 reflects. The 18C employs conventional and unconventional warfare tactics and techniques unilateral, combined, coalition, joint, interagency and multinational operations. Performs combat in combat engineer role and maintains detachment engineer equipment and supplies. My roles including training indigenous forces, mission preparation, equipment maintenance, and modifying equipment to enhance capabilities. I was also tasked with construction of living facilities, and aiding instalation of plumbing as well as mechanical maintenance of vehicles and generators.
