Greetings!
My 29th year of federal service passed in May 2024. That takes into account the almost seven years of active duty army. After being raised as a military brat moving every couple of years, I can talk to and relate to just about anyone. Being the last of five children of an enlisted serviceman made frugality, repair, reinvent and repurpose a normal part of life. It also defaulted me to have to climb, crawl, squeeze, into all those difficult, areas. But something about it stuck with me. It grafted the passion to create, reuse, reinvent and repurpose things in my life.  

I'm exploring the a career field change to general contracting and construction, carpentry as a beginner. My first MOS was medical equipment repairer. I was reclassified as a Patient Admin Specialist.
I was placed in a rapid deployment unit on recall every six weeks and assigned as a driver to a 5-ton truck with trailer. That was followed by being licensed on night vision goggles, generators, propane heaters / stoves and being appointed the unit armorer. I was responsible for the security, safety, maintenance and replacement of all the unit's weapons. The "admin" side of my military career was set aside for several years as I was tasked with grunt work, being a soldier, truck driver and laborer.

I gradually merged into the administration side of the military, both active duty and civilian - mostly within healthcare setting. But the blue collar in me came out when it was recognized that I could disassemble, move, reconfigure, and reassemble modular office furniture in one day. All the while our dept waited on the Engineering dept to come assess, measure, plan, staff, etc. Somehow a co-worker and I became the go-to's for moving offices, even buildings within a regional military medical center. This included moving office equipment and computers and coordinating with all necessary authorities.

Although I have a long career in health administration, I still have a passion for building, creating, designing and improving spaces .
I'm at a place in my career to begin exploring ways to get back to those things.

I have a great balance of people skills, attention to detail, following instructions, sense of humor, as well as thinking outside the box for innovative ideas and the ability to collaborate with people of all levels of education, leadership and cultures.

I've used my GI Bill for my degree in technology and am looking for other ways to explore the trades.
