I was born in Moses Lake, WA, grew up in Pasco, and graduated Pasco High School in 2005. I immediately joined active duty military service, where I remained until 2013. Thereafter, I studied psychology and worked in nonprofit with veterans for approximately the next 10 years, during which time I lived in Los Angeles, CA. In March of 2025, I decided it was time to pack my belongings and move back to Pasco to be close to family. I've considered this career for a long time, and I am eager to learn a new skill.

Role Description:This was a part-time job on campus, while taking classes. I worked as the front desk clerk at the Veterans Resource Center. My role was basically to make life easier for the full time staff. Some visitors were regulars, looking for a place to study, while others were first timers at the campus, requiring assistance enrolling at the school using GI Bill benefits. For newcomers, I would walk them through the next steps, and set them up with appointments with the appropriate faculty member. I also answered phone calls, addressed questions or concerns to the best of my ability, and from time to time, I would help with additional duties such as organizing files, inputting data, and even redesigning the office.

Role Description:Disabled American Veterans is a non profit agency, established over a hundred years ago, with roots similar to the American Legion, or Purple Heart Association. My role there was assisting veterans, and their family members, through the claims process of disability compensation, for injuries sustained during active duty military service. We assisted service members at all stages of the claims process, from the initial application, through representation before a Veterans Law Judge. The Veterans Affairs (VA) claims process is tedious, lengthy and quite confusing. There are many lawyers who charge hefty fees to assist veterans in need, but DAV is a non profit who does so, at no cost.
