Hello, My name is Jonathan T. Baldwin.

I am a father of soon to be five children, four boys and a girl (soon). I have just resigned from my postion as a correctional officer due to a family issue. While I was working at Gassers True Value - probably three years ago now, A gentleman came in and informed me of the "Helmets to Hardhats" program, and I already had jobs lined up, so I never reached out.

I'd like to put myself out there to have an opportunity to grow and potentially learn a skill that I can utilize as a career. I can be a team player, but I also enjoy working alone, I do not have any issues when it comes to physical strength. My communication skills are good, but not great - it's something I am still working on getting better at. I am very accountable, On time, and very willing to learn - especially if it's something new to me.

Regarding qualifications, All I can really speak on is that I'd be willing to learn, and I try to do the best in what I do. I am typically always early - if not im always on time. In the world of trades, I don't really know much, other than what I've self taught from the internet.

For Career objectives, I say it as a joke, but not really. I am getting too old to keep jumping jobs, and I need to find a career that I can thrive in and enjoy.

    Duties Description:

    While I was serving in the marines, I embarked on the 31st MEU which we traveled around the S. Asia portion of the world and we stayed in Okinawa, Japan for a few months to serve with the JDF. My second deployement sent us to Australia, where we also trained with the Australian Army and embarked on one of their ships the Adalade. Other than the deployments majority of the time was spent in the field training and studying.

    Role Description:

    I worked in the mixed mill & mold section of the plant, here we would push vats up to the conveyer which would add hot water, and cheese till full. We'd then push them into a mixer bay and hit a button for it to mix for the designated time, once that finished you'd pull the vat out of the mixing bay and into the hydrolic lift which would pour them into molds. *Rinse and repeat for 12hours*

    Role Description:

    While working at Gassers True Value, I was hired as a sales assossiate and my duties consisted of stocking shelves, and helping customers. Further into working there I was then trained and working the skidloader, and forklift to load/unload products off of the trucks - or placing items into customers trucks/trailers. Towards the last six months I was an assistant manager (key holder), until I moved on to my next job.

    Role Description:

    I was tasked with bakery start up, I'd come to work at 0300 in the morning to begin pulling product that was going to be utilized throughout the work day for the bakery production lines. They were eight hour shifts, so my typical day was 03-11am - although I'd usually stay later to assist in other warehouse areas to keep us up to speed since we were typically short staffed. We utilized the stand up - electronic forklifts which you'd drive backwards.

  • Job Title: Correctional Officer

    Company: Jo Daviess County Sheriff's Department

    Period: September 2024 - August 2025

    Role Description:

    I worked in the Jo Daviess Co. jail in which we would perform daily jail duties which would consist of checking on inmates, serving food, booking, and processing. I worked the night shift from 6pm to 6am, which regularly consisted of really not much to do, but the random DUI. Due to recent family events I had to leave this position.
