Work Experience:
My name is Anthony Saavedra, and I am the first in my family to accomplish many things, all in pursuit of understanding what it truly means to be a man and what it requires. Growing up, I believed manhood was about having the best grades and being obedient to my parents. As I entered my teenage years, I thought it was the trials and tribulations that defined a man—that being independent and leaving home was the true test. That belief led me to enlist in the Army.
Through my time away from home, I learned I was mistaken. I realized that I didn’t need a war or distance to discover what a man is. True manhood is about responsibility—being a noble man with real virtues. It means being a good friend, brother, husband, and taking care of your own.
After completing the first chapter of my life on active duty, I chose to continue my journey by enlisting in the National Guard. This path allows me to test what I’ve learned, while still fulfilling my duty as an American and helping wherever I am needed. With hope, grit, and unshakable drive, I know I can achieve great things and inspire future generations.
Alongside my military service, I pursued higher education and earned my Associate’s degree in Business and Administration. I also obtained my CDL as a personal challenge and side mission—expanding my skills and broadening my understanding across multiple fields.
Professionally, I served as a diesel wheeled mechanic, a certified armorer, and a certified H8 wrecker operator, with over 50 recoveries documented during my 2022 deployment in Poland. I also hold a Senior Mechanic Badge and a Driver’s Badge. While I am grateful for the awards and certifications I’ve earned, what I bring to the table goes beyond those. What matters most is my loyalty and work ethic—qualities I always carry into any team or mission.
Although these are just words on paper, believe me when I say I live by them, and I will continue to do my best to prove them true.
