  Duties Description:

  Responsible for working with battlefield signal support systems and terminal devices. This equipment needs to consistently work in order for the Army to direct the movement of its troops; Maintain radio and data distribution systems; Perform signal support functions and technical assistance for computer systems; Provide technical assistance and training for local area networks; Maintenance for equipment, terminal devices, assigned vehicles and power generators.

    As a Communications Security (COMSEC) specialist, I was responsible for safeguarding sensitive information through the management and distribution of cryptographic materials. I maintained and operated Secure Key Loaders (SKLs), configured tactical radios with encryption keys, and ensured secure voice and data communications across mission-critical operations. My role included strict adherence to military protocols for the handling, storage, and destruction of classified materials, as well as coordinating with higher command to distribute COMSEC assets to subordinate units. This experience reflects a deep understanding of secure communications, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance—skills that are highly transferable to cybersecurity, network administration, and information assurance roles in the civilian sector.
